Attempted Murder, Reckless Endangerment, Assault: Verdict Not Guilty, all counts. A motion was filed for an in court identification of the defendant. The defendant was told to dress in a 3 piece suit. Mr. Watson brought several friends into the courtroom including the owner of the local radio station who bore a resemblance to the defendant. After instructing the defendant to avoid him during the upcoming break, Mr. Watson talked with the friend while the complaining witnesses look on. When court resumed, all three complaining witnesses walked past the defendant and identified the radio station owner as the person they said shot at them while they were riding over the defendant’s farm on snowmobiles. The defendant was immediately acquitted but one of the complaining witnesses went to jail for several days for Contempt of Court because he argued with the Judge.

Wrongful Death: Settlement $180,000

Personal Injury: Settlement $165,000 (2004)

DWI: Several cases: Not Guilty

Murder, Manslaughter and Reckless Endangerment: Murder charged thrown out at the preliminary hearing. Other charges: not guilty jury verdict.

DWI-MVA: Several cases: Defendants not suspended (avoiding a 120 day suspension of Maryland driving licenses) as Administrative Law Judge found they had not voluntarily refused to take breath test because arresting officer had not properly informed them of their rights under Maryland DR-15 form or had not given them a full opportunity to ask questions and to take the test.

DRUG CASE; POSSESSION: Not guilty. Evidence suppressed due to illegal search.

DNR VIOLATION: Illegal hunting: Not guilty due to suppression of Defendant’s statements to police officer due to defendant having not been properly informed of his rights under the Fifth, Sixth and Fourteenth Amendments to the Constitution.

BURGLARY: Felony count thrown out at Preliminary Hearing after submission of a memorandum showing that the house was not within the legal definition of a “dwelling house.”
